A 9 film saga (composed of 3 trilogies) has been announced for the modern 'Planet of the Apes' franchise. It is likely that this final trilogy will focus on a new protagonist other than Caeser and Noa, and be set in a distant future, connecting the franchise with the 1968 original film.
