Jeanette Björkqvist

Jeanette Björkqvist, born in 1973 in Porvoo, Uusimaa, is a Finnish-Swedish journalist and author. She has worked as a news reporter for Hufvudstadsbladet in Helsinki, as an employee of Svenska Dagbladet in Helsinki and since 2016 as a freelancer. Björkqvist is also a regular studio guest in the radio program "Eftersnack" and has also participated in the Friday panel "Jälkiviisaat." In 2010, she was awarded the EU Journalist Prize and the 2011 Midas Prize for her report "The Unwanted People", on the Eastern European Roma. In the spring of 2014, the play Woman for Sale, where Björkqvist was one of the co-authors, premiered at the Swedish Theater in Helsinki.
