Last Days of the Nazis

Season 1

Episode 2: Smoke, Blood, and Mirrors

Apr 21, 2015
After World War II ends, every German adult is subject to Allied questioning. Albert Speer, Hitler’s architect and Armaments Minister, presents a confounding portrait of an educated, likeable man seduced by his own ambitions. Former BDM leader Melita Maschmann explains how the Nazis cultivated racial hatred among young Germans. Occultist Karl Maria Wiligut explains the Nazi obsession with mysticism and ritual. The Nazis use spectacle and circus to obscure their dark agenda at the 1934 Nuremburg Party Rally and the 1936 Berlin Olympics. And propagandist Julius Streicher repulses his captors and meets a grisly and surprising end.
